To Whom It May Concern,
My wife, Annaliese, and I recently dined at the Olive Garden Italian Restaurant and because of the service and atmosphere that was there, we returned again.
Because of the usual below-par service and high prices Annaliese and I generally receive at restaurants we consider to be nice, sit down restaurants, we sometimes hesitate to go, especially on weekends.
Annaliese and I are both attending school at Utah State University and were married this past May. We obviously, being young married college students, are poor. As such, we are very weary of how we spend our money.
For Christmas we received a gift card to the Olive Garden. Later in the Christmas week we decided to go and use our gift card. When we got there it was noticeably crowded and we were a little disappointed. The greeter told us our estimated wait time and we waited. During our wait we were given a small appetizer, which was nice for the wait. To our nice surprise it was probably ten minutes less than they had said our wait would be. It was contrary to what we had experienced at restaurants in the past where they tell us a time less than it really is so we will stay and it ends up being much longer.
We were then given a seat right next to the fireplace which was a welcome sight because of the bitter cold outside. We were pleased with the service that was given that day especially because we are so you used to the average service we get. I say that because I feel that the fact that we’re young married college students and we are poor that we are not a priority. This visit proved us wrong with the prompt seating and what my wife calls, “the best seat in the house,” and great service. Upon leaving one of the managers had a quick, yet genuine conversation with us asking us about our experience. This was nice and made us feel like a priority.
Due to the experience we had we decided to return this past Friday the 23rd. We were given much the same experience as the time before. It was pretty crowded, we were in there quicker than expected and given great service once again.
As I stated above I am a little weary and a bit cynical when it comes to spending precious money at this point in my life, but I was impressed at the length that this Logan, Utah Olive Garden went to earn my respect and satisfaction. I feel like they lived up to the following Olive Garden motto:
“Olive Garden is a family of restaurants focused on delighting every guest with a genuine Italian dining experience. We are proud to serve fresh, simple, delicious Italian food, complemented by a great glass of wine, served in a comfortable, home-like Italian setting where everyone is welcomed as family and friends. Our purpose is Hospitaliano!, our passion for 100% guest delight”
As long as I am given this treatment I will always be more willing to spend my precious money at the Olive Garden.
Sincerely,
Chet Gardner
